Description
The wife of a struggling artist is raped and begins painting a series of erotic images in an attempt to exorcise her demons. However the men in her paintings all have the same face as her rapist, and as her work becomes more popular the man begins to take on folk-hero status... The Weissers note that: "... PEER CINEMA reported that this movie was actually intended as symbolic of Nikkatsu's new direction in filmmaking by 'comparing their motion pictures to the erotic ukiyo-e paintings of the Edo Period, with both works appealing to the common man of society'." Chusei Sone's directorial debut. Scripted by Masayasu Oebara and Koji Matsumoto under the collective pseudonym 'Jirou Nizeki'.
